The Horizons Program

Are you pursuing a radiography, sonography, respiratory therapy or surgical technology degree? The Horizons Program is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience, receive financial support and secure a pathway to employment at Memorial Health after graduation.  Apply online now to begin the enrollment process. 

Over $50,000 in Program Benefits

  • $1,000 stipend* every other week during your second year of study
(August 2025–May 2026)
  • Up to $5,250 in tuition assistance per calendar year 
  • 200+ hours of hands-on patient care experience 
  • Employment with a three-year work commitment after graduation
  • Eligible for applicable sign-on incentives** upon graduation 

Eligibility

The Horizons Program is open to external candidates and current colleagues of Memorial Health who are in their first year of program study and will graduate in May 2026. 

Requirements

To qualify, you must be enrolled in an accredited allied health program that aligns with Memorial’s workforce needs. You must also maintain the minimum required GPA and have completed all prerequisite coursework. 

Getting Started

To get started, complete an employment application and an interview as part of the competitive selection process. Individuals who are selected for the Horizons Program must maintain satisfactory academic progress, have no active corrective actions on file and exhibit behaviors that align with Memorial’s values.

Radiography, AAS

Career Pathways:

Cath Lab Special Procedures Technologist
Train in a high-tech cardiovascular environment, assisting with angiograms, stent placements and catheter-based interventions in a cardiac cath lab. 
CT Technologist

Gain hands-on experience under certified CT technologists, preparing patients for computed tomography (CT) scans, utilizing medical vocabulary and working with advanced imaging technology to create detailed cross-sectional images. 

MRI Technologist

Work alongside experienced MRI technologists to perform patient preparation, safety screening and quality checks while using cutting-edge imaging equipment in an ever-evolving field. 

 Radiologic Technologist 

Get hands-on experience performing diagnostic X-ray and fluoroscopic procedures alongside experienced technologists.

Surgical Technology, AAS

Career Pathways:

Surgical Technologist

Train inside operating rooms alongside skilled surgical teams, gaining hands-on experience in instrument setup, sterile technique and surgical assisting across a variety of procedures in a real clinical environment.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography, AAS 
Cardiovascular Sonography, AAS 

Career Pathways:

Ultrasound Technologist

Train under experienced ultrasound technologists, gaining hands-on experience in direct patient care while working with advanced imaging technology and collaborating with medical teams.

Cardiac Sonographer

Work alongside registered clinical sonographers in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, gaining hands-on experience with advanced cardiac imaging technology.

Vascular Sonographer

Train under registered clinical sonographers, developing expertise in vascular imaging while working with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic patient care setting.

Respiratory Care, AAS

Career Pathways:

Respiratory Therapist

Work alongside experienced respiratory therapists to provide bedside care, manage oxygen therapy and ventilators, and support patients with breathing challenges—from everyday needs to critical situations. Care for individuals with chronic lung disease or those facing acute illness or injury that affects breathing.

Work at Memorial Health as a per diem colleague while attending school. Gain valuable hands-on experience while working alongside Memorial clinicians. After graduating and meeting all licensing requirements, you’ll be placed in a full-time role designated by Memorial Health.
