Provides management oversight for assigned therapy locations. Perform as an integral member of the rehab leadership team.  Provides management, planning, direction and coordination of initiatives within his/her areas of responsibility in order to achieve operational excellence with cost effective and high quality patient services.

Required Skills

  1. Participates in strategic planning activities for the product line and areas of responsibility; complete assigned goals as part of the process; demonstrate support for and participate as requested in achieving MHS and MMC goals.
  1. Participates in annual budget preparation for areas of responsibility.
  1. Assists in managing costs on a daily basis, including flexing of staff to meet referral demand.
  1. Coordinates in-services/training for staff to meet staff development needs.
  1. Coordinates and conducts annual performance appraisals of staff based on direct observation and feedback of clinical staff and others as appropriate.
  1. Leads departmental and team planning activities by advising areas of staffing, operational performance, quality and safety, and technology, etc.
  1. Participates in the departmental Quality Management Program, including QA, QI and Program Evaluation. Maintenance of departmental operations and documentation in accordance with licensing, and regulatory standards.
  1. Maintains daily awareness and responsibility for safety and infection control.
  1. Maintains high level of customer satisfaction in areas of responsibility.
  1. Assists in recruitment of staff in areas of responsibility; coordinates orientation of new staff.
  1. Serves as a Liaison with physicians, other hospital departments, third party payors, and community agencies.
  1. Coordinates efforts with other managers and clinical team leaders to meet program goals.
  1. Maintains a current working knowledge in discipline of license and provide quality patient care.
  1. Coordinates research/outcome assessment activities in areas of responsibility.
  1. Provide daily management of operations (Personnel, Procedural, etc.) in areas of responsibility.
  1. Collaborates with department leaders throughout Memorial to ensure smooth coordination of all therapy services required to meet patient needs.
  1. Provides interpretation of hospital and departmental policies, objectives and operational procedures for program coordinators and other staff as appropriate.
  1. Represents the administrative policies of MMC and MHS in a positive, professional manner to all supervised employees. Adheres to the principles of MHS Statement of Values.
  1. Maintains current knowledge of new developments in relevant clinical services, reimbursement, organizational regulations, licensure, and strategy.
  1. Performs other related work as required or requested.

Required Experience

Education:

Masters degree or higher in relevant academic discipline required.  Additional education in business, finance, and/or healthcare administration preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

Illinois licensed/licensure eligible Psychologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Pathologist required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in broad-based rehabilitation setting preferred, with clinical leadership experience required.
  • Experience in budgeting, operational planning, project management and performance improvement processes preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Aptitude to work in a changing and ambiguous environment.
