Required Experience

Reviews and corrects demographics/insurance errors.  Assists in the clinic’s overall financial performance by monitoring accounts for bad debt balances, pre-payment requirements, patient portions at the time of service, and other old balances. 
  5. Responsible for several tasks related to the paper flow through office. This may include, but is not limited to; working with incoming mail and faxed correspondence.  Assists in scanning correspondence and paper medical records and conducting quality assurance and quality audits, if requested. 
  6. Performs opening and close of day activities. This may include running various reports, cash management, and completing required work lists.
  7. Complies with all reimbursement rules and regulations, including Corporate Compliance and HIPAA. Applies the Minimum Necessary Standard when accessing protected health information.  Complies with established clinic policies and procedures and safety standards.

  1. Enters and retrieves patient medical data from computer terminal updating entries as necessary; audit medical record for accuracy and completeness, note deficiencies and refer for appropriate follow up and completion.

Required Experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent required

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), successful completion of a coding program, or six months coding, health information, or relevant experience required.
  • Certification must be current.

Experience:

  • Previous coding, health information management, physician medical office, registration, or billing experience preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of proper use of ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT-4 coding guidelines and principles, and AHA Coding Clinics.
  • Knowledge of Revenue Cycle, Utilization Review, and Billing process desired.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently.
  • Word processing/computer application experience and knowledge desired.  Coding software familiarity preferred.

  1. Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control devices.
  1. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using appropriate tools. Tests continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instructions such as vault OHM meter, meggar, and other test equipment.
  1. Isolates defects in electrical circuits, fixtures, and appliances.
  1. Installs control and distribution equipment.
  1. Performs tasks as assigned through work order system.
  1. Responds to miscellaneous calls from hospital staff.
  1. Maintain time and material logs required.
  1. Provides a safe environment by adhering to all infection control guidelines, hospital policies and procedures, and applicable codes and regulations.
  1. Participates in department on-call rotation as necessary.
  1. Assists in maintaining the physical plant and grounds when requested.
  1. Provides security assistance when requested, such as responding to security issues.

Required Experience

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in a science/technical field, electrical license/certification, or apprenticeship completion in electricity/electronics required.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Must possess valid Illinois driver’s license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (five year MVR will be required).
  • In this position, one will be required to be an OSHA certified forklift operator.  On site and hands on training will be provided by department leader to meet this requirement.  

Experience:

  • Four years of commercial electricity/electronics experience is required. 

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, electrical theory, National Electric Code, and local building codes.
  • Strong computer skills and associated equipment familiarity required.
  • Able to respond by onsite presence within 30 minutes of an emergency call during department on-call rotation
