Our EVS Tech I is responsible for maintaining hospital facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition. This role is essential for ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Required Skills
- Perform daily cleaning of all patient-use areas, restrooms, offices, and engage in project cleaning as needed.
- Execute tasks such as scrubbing, mopping, polishing, and using appropriate chemical mixtures.
- Interact professionally and courteously with patients, the general public, physicians, hospital personnel, and outside entities.
- Uphold Jacksonville Memorial Hospital’s behavioral standards.
- Collaborate effectively and positively with team members.
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers and management.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Be flexible with work schedules, hours, and assignments.
- Adhere to regular attendance and punctuality policies.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Required Experience
Experience:
- Previous experience in institutional and/or commercial housekeeping is preferred.
- Familiarity with waxing and stripping floors is also preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Working Conditions:
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
- Physical demands include repetitive hand motions, walking, standing, and reaching above the head.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and body fluids.
- Occasional exposure to varying temperatures (heat and cold) and humidity, as well as biological hazards.
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, dirt, oil, grease, noise, odors, wet slippery floors, and working independently.
