Position Summary

Day Shift

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Patient Support Specialists/Front Desk/Reception at Springfield and Jacksonville Memorial Behavioral Health community mental health locations. Provide supervision of non-clinical support colleagues at each location, including front office reception and phone operators. Provide leadership and supervision for administrative, business office, and clerical functions for all MBH Community Mental Health clinic locations.

Required Skills

  1. Responsible for providing supervision of non-clinical patient support colleagues, including, but not limited to; non-clinical colleague staffing and work assignments; colleague satisfaction; department payroll preparation; hiring and direct supervision of non-clinical support colleagues; orientation and/or training of non-clinical support colleagues;  implementation of clinic/agency policy, procedures, and processes;  fulfillment of Medicaid and managed care requirements; client and/or patient satisfaction.
  2. Assists agency in meeting financial goals. Works with leaders and colleagues to meet clinical outcomes targets by overseeing the maintenance of clinical caseloads at each location.  Manages the on-site collections process and coordinates with the centralized billing office, as necessary. 
  3. Assists with the creation and implementation of agency/department goals and objectives. Ensures they are accomplished.
  4. Provides supervision and support with the maintenance of administrative files including vehicle inspections and maintenance, facility inspections, emergency procedure manuals, safety drill logs, and all other administrative related documents.
  5. Oversees maintenance of facilities and equipment, supply ordering and purchasing of equipment for the various MBH locations by collaborating with MHS Maintenance & Purchasing.
  6. Provides operational support for all MBH locations.
  7. Performs other related work as required or requested

Required Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or health service administration required, or 5 years of leadership experience in an administrative setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

  • Must possess a valid IL driver’s license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy.

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of general office and/or administrative setting experience required, with at least two (2) years of line management experience or demonstrated leadership experience required.
  • Computer experience required with word processing and spreadsheet software experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Previous experience with scheduling, billing and/or payroll software preferred
