The Benefit Communication Specialist (BCS) is employed by BCInsourcing and plays a key role in delivering consultative benefits education and enrollment support to new and existing colleagues. This position provides personalized, one-on-one benefit counseling, executes data-driven outreach strategies, and supports onsite client enrollment activities. The BCS serves as an onsite representative for BCInsourcing and is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service, accuracy, and regulatory compliance throughout all benefit enrollment processes.

Required Skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct individualized benefit review sessions with newly hired and existing colleagues to educate them on benefit options and support informed enrollment decisions
- Proactively contact colleagues to schedule benefit review appointments and complete follow-up outreach as needed
- Analyze colleague census and demographic data to develop targeted communication and outreach strategies that drive enrollment participation
- Review, evaluate, and counsel colleagues on core and voluntary benefit plans, including coverage options, costs, eligibility, and enrollment timelines
- Respond to inbound colleague inquiries related to benefit plans and enrollment; complete outbound follow-up calls as required
- Accurately enter colleague and enrollment data into designated systems at the time of enrollment
- Complete paper applications and electronic enrollments in accordance with established procedures and deadlines
- Plan and support new hire orientations, open enrollment events, and onsite enrollment projects
- Assist with the development and execution of benefit communication strategies aligned with client objectives
- Maintain a professional demeanor and deliver exceptional customer service to colleagues, clients, and internal partners
- Participate in client meetings and collaborate with internal case partners as assigned
- Escalate colleague issues, complaints, or concerns to leadership or Human Resources when appropriate
- Travel to client locations during open enrollment periods and for special projects as required
- Comply with HIPAA regulations, enrollment and licensing requirements, quality assurance standards, and company policies
- Maintain an active Life and Health (and Accident, where applicable) Insurance Producer’s License, complete continuing education requirements, and notify the Licensing Department of any status changes
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office-based and onsite client work environments
- Travel required to client locations for open enrollment and special projects
- Ability to sit, stand, and communicate with colleagues for extended periods
Required Experience
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and related work experience)
- Prior experience in Human Resources, specifically with colleague benefits
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Life, Health, and Accident Insurance Producer’s License within the required timeframe
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly explain benefit information to diverse colleague populations
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities during peak enrollment periods
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites
- Proven relationship-building skills and professional presence
- Self-directed work ethic with the ability to represent the company onsite with limited supervision
- Professional experience demonstrating self-motivation and results-driven performance
- Advanced degree completed or in progress
- Working knowledge of insurance products, including core and voluntary benefits
- Active Life, Health, and Accident Insurance Producer’s License at the time of hire
