Position Summary:
The Epic Interface & Conversion Analyst I is role responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and support of Epic interfaces and data conversion processes. This role provides foundational support for interoperability between Epic and third-party applications by working on HL7, FHIR, and other integration solutions. The analyst supports data migration and conversion efforts while ensuring data integrity.

Required Skills
- Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Epic interfaces using Epic Bridges, HL7, FHIR, APIs, and web services.
- Assist with configuration and troubleshooting interface engines to ensure smooth data exchange between Epic and third-party applications.
- Under general supervision, monitor and optimize interface performance, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and compliance.
- Assist in data conversion projects, extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from legacy systems into Epic.
- Under general supervision, validate data accuracy and troubleshoot discrepancies during the data migration and go-live process.
- Work closely with Epic application analysts, IT teams, and end users to ensure smooth data transition.
- Partner with clinical, financial, and IT teams to define integration and data conversion requirements.
- Under general supervision, work with vendors and third-party system providers to troubleshoot and optimize interfaces.
- Provide technical support and training to stakeholders on interface and data conversion processes.
- Participate in Epic system upgrades, testing, and validation related to interfaces and data migration.
- Under general supervision, ensure interfaces comply with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, Meaningful Use, interoperability mandates).
- Assist in maintaining thorough documentation of interface specifications, data mappings, and conversion workflows.
- Support interface and conversion projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve data flow, and enhance system interoperability.
- Stay up to date with emerging healthcare integration standards and Epic updates.

Required Experience
Educational:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is preferred.
Epic Certification:
Certification in Bridges and/or Data Conversion is required within 1 year of hire.
Other Requirements:
- One plus years’ experience in IT is desired.
- Basic knowledge of HL7, FHIR, APIs, and web services.
- Familiarity with SQL, ETL processes, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability concepts and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot data integration issues
